31 DAYS IN AFRICA

On the 18th May 2008, I arrived in Entebbe, Uganda with three other friends for the trip of a life time as we had the privilage of being agents of God's Grace and Love at Childcare Kitgum Servants in North Uganda.

It has been 2 weeks scince we have returned to the Western way of life and although it has been difficult to adjust I wouldn't have missed this opportunity to 'step out of my comfort zone' for anything!!!

It was my aim to share daily occurrences on this blog site but I soon learnt that while there was a computer 'on-site' it was only for urgent communication!! Sometimes there was power and sometimes there was running water. It was rare to have them both at once:). Hence I will endeavour to post some reflections here over the next little while as my brain adjusts.

Bear with me as I pour out the contents of 'our' journal if you are interested in:

2. How do you feed, cloth, medicate and educate, upto 8,000 children and young people each school day?
3. How do you manage to survive on rice and beans?
4. How do you deal with stories of trauma and tradgedy that you hear on a daily basis?

7. How did we manage to leave these beautiful people when a part of hearts will be in Kitgum, Africa forever?
